Face To Face Friday

I thought I was one of the lucky ones.

I sat in my barber chair, waiting for him to spin me around and see the fresh fade. I could tell he was doing a good with the details, and time he took.

Ok, so we’re finished he spins me around gives me the mirror and I feel like new money! I wasn’t examining the cut, I had glanced over it just to make sure I didn’t have patches 😂. Ok, we’re good! New money, uh, uh!

I got in my truck to take more selfies, naturally... 😆 and realize that I do have a patch. Only it’s not from a cut; no hair is present to cut. (The first one you can see head-on my hair is missing :-(. The second one is for serving face, you’re welcome. lol) Keep reading to see the before and after.

Mind you I, remember seeing it slightly from my last cut, but I thought my barber messed up my lines, and it’ll grow out. However, I haven’t had a haircut in 3 weeks.

Two words: Telogen effluvium. What is that? It is the cause of hair loss in people who are losing weight at a rapid pace.

People who have had gastric bypass surgery — are at risk for nutritional deficiencies because of malabsorption of food and nutrients, as well as the fact that they are taking in less food and are often not taking in all of their needed nutrients. This also applies to people who are “dieting” and restricting important food groups and nutrients from their eating plan.

By switching to no meat has indeed stressed my system. However, it’s ok! I have a plan both for my food and for my hair. I am going to increase my protein intake through shakes. I am going to use a hair growth serum to stimulate the area.

(After posting this picture, I realized that it was worse in my before. Ugh…lol… Le struggle)

I was upset at first, but then I opened my @icandothisjournal, and a quote encouraged me that I’m in this for me and the long haul.
